The Races at Top Ryde City

It's races season ladies, put your bets on the filly with the cutest jockey. Well that's how I've always done it! Jokes aside the races are a great day out with the girls but it's so much more than just a day. Let's be honest, we're all betting on the fashion more than the horses. There's the shoes, the clutch, the outfit, the accessories, the makeup choices and most of all the hat. Of all the social occasions a girl can do, the races are by far the most complex. It's hardly minimal dressing.

The Races are all about the complete package!

Top Ryde City's Spring/Summer look has just been released and in good time for me to break down how to get the look locally (no travelling to the City required!)

Here are my best tips and trends to help you achieve successful race day fashion.
+ Only go a heel or stiletto if you can successfully stand in them for 4 hours plus. No one likes a girl barefoot leaving a race course. For appropriate race day shoes head to Betts shoes, Novo shoes, Freelance shoes and Myer in Top Ryde City.
+ Dress for the day. It's an outdoor event so avoid blacks and dresses that belong in a nightclub.
+ Don't splurge on a dress when you can save on a top and skirt combo that you can recreate. Peplum top's are a great on trend option, you can read all about how to wear them in my 'How To Wear Peplum' post HERE. Head to Sheike, Supre or Bardot in the centre for some great options.
+ Accessorise, have fun with the hat, bag, shoes and jewellery, it's meant to be a bit over the top. Great spots for the above are Diva, Colette, Sheike, Supre, Betts shoes and Myer!
+ When in doubt, slick the hair back! We all have a million things to do, so having the luxury of time to do your hair and makeup can be impossible. Thank goodness for flower head pieces like the one we used in our campaign, it does the hard work for you.
+ If you have time do a fake tan, it always makes you feel better. Napoleon Perdis in Top Ryde City sell a great instant fake tan that is great for that sunkissed look!
+ Have fun with it. If the getting ready stress outshines the races fun, you're missing the point of the whole concept!

P.S:  Next time you're in the centre, have some fun trying on fascinators like the below. I love these new races looks from Diva. Hats and fascinators for race day are a very personal thing, so it's best to experiment with as many styles as possible and choose the right look to match your personality.

GET THE LOOK AT DIVA.

I love the polka dots and cooky but classic style of this one, it's loud while still remaining elegant and classic.

This fascinator looks like nothing special, until you try it on, at which point it looks amazing, proves you have to give it a try! Looks great with your hair pulled back, the fasinator does it all!

If you're looking for a bright bold fascinator, go for something neon, it's on trend and makes a BIG statement!
