Sporty Chic

The centre today launched its 'Sporty Chic' look as part of our Style Me campaign.
Sporty Chic is the most daring look of our spring/summer campaign. It's all about being bold with neons, metallics, wedged sneakers, backpacks and accessories (e.g caps, watches, chains). To be honest, I think of it as an 80's revival with a modern twist.
Sporty Chic can be done at any age, however, girls in their 20's are the most likely to embrace it wholeheartedly. If you're in your 30's, 40's or 50's, Sporty Chic is still a trend that you can incorporate into your summer look. For example, mothers can rock high top sneaker wedges that are a huge footwear trend at the moment. Hightop's can be worn by mums while doing the school run in jeans and a white t-shirt. Office wear can be made Sporty Chic with statement watches and thicker gold chains added to the classic white shirt. Women in their 50's can bring back the visor in metallic shades for casual wear and shirts with bold, bright lines. If you're in your teens or 20's you can go all with Sporty Chic, think bodycon neon dresses teamed with high top sneakers or a bright sporty pump heel. Add a watch in neon or gold, a cap or statement headphones to the look and you will look like you have stepped out off the pages of a magazine editorial, ready to take over the world.
One key element to remember is Sporty Chic has a masculine feel to it, this means wearing Sporty Chic should be comfortable. Have fun with colour and be willing to take some risks, even if it's just changing up your iphone headphones for some retro style full ear headphones.
To enhance the Sporty Chic look, women of all age groups can experiment with a more extensive colour palette when it comes to makeup. In our campaign we chose a nude look lip with a winged blue cat eye. Bright lips and nails are another way to add neon or colour to your look.
