Trend Alert: Army print

Army print started as a new key trend this spring/summer, with signature military inspired pieces popping up in all the leading retail stores. Autumn/winter fashion is starting to make it's way to the centre and army print is here to stay. It's on my radar as one of the biggest trends for the coming season!

As with all fashion trends, this trend extends beyond the pattern, army print also means that we will be seeing many military inspired pieces in stores. Look out for khaki as a new colour trend for everything from jeans to shorts, shirts and skirts.

If you're looking at experimenting with army prints, here are my top tips on how to pull off the trend.

Think of army print and khaki as you would denim, it's a great basic that works well with all your essential pieces. You can't go wrong with army printed or khaki pants and a white t-shirt.

Add boots to your look. Army print automatically has an edge to it, so naturally the trend looks great when worked back with black ankle boots or wedged heel sneakers.

Invest in some army print jeans. Last season it was all about coloured and floral jeans, while autumn/winter is still huge for printed pants, the trend has just gone beyond florals and into army print. Army print skinny jeans are a great way to make a simple black or white t-shirt look fresh and edgy.

Stud it up. Stud's on key accessories such as phone covers, bags, clutches, boots and jewellery are a great way to add some rock and roll bling to a look. Army print works great with studs, so don't be afraid to experiment with studded boots and an oversized studded clutch bag.

If wearing army print clothing is out of your comfort zone, you can still wear the trend by investing in army print accessories. A army printed backpack is a great way to start to incorporate the trend into your wardrobe in a subtle way.
